Haagen Dasz Ice Cream has been my favorite tea-time snack for over the decades. In its outlet, we can have a dine in here and it offers not only the ice cream, but also fondues, crepes, and waffles. I have been a vivid fan of crepes that is topped with haagen-dasz ice cream and yet I can never get bored of it. Yummy ;) </div>

This crepe consists of two scoops of ice creams (any of your choices) and I chose my favorite ones here, which are the vanilla and cookies&cream. Complemented with sliced bananas and almond flakes as the sprinkles and finalized with caramel sauce on top. A perfect dessert for two and best served when the outside weather is chilling to give a cool sensation. The price is quite expensive for a plate of crepes (around Rp. 65.000,- ++) however it is really worth it.</div>

<b>Salmon Cracker. </b>It looks like a fried spring-roll but with a little twist for the fillings. These crackers consist of chunks of salmons and vegetable combinations, then deep-fried for the cooking process. Yummy! I really love this extraordinary crackers and the portion is enough to share for 2-3 people.</div>

<b>Risotto. </b>errrr... I forgot the formal name of this dish, all I could recall is it is a plate of risotto. Personally, I never recommende myself to eating risotto as my main dish as I do not really like eating rice for my meal. But this risotto is somehow a little bit overcooked and the seafood essence is quite strong and I do not like this dish at all. Not highly recommended, but for any risotto lovers, well, you might want to try. After all, taste is just a personal perception, and you might disagree with me :)</div>

<b>Lobster Thermidor Spaghetti. </b>Creamy al dente spaghetti that has a light cream taste for the flavor. It is delicious and I think that the creamy level is accepted (as I do not really like creamy food that much). The dish is topped with chunks of lobsters and some crabs if I am not mistaken. Overall, the dish is quite satisfying and personally recommending to try this dish.</div>

Luciole Bistro is a place where you can have a pretty dinner with your dates, relatives, friends, and families with a view of green scenery (in the afternoon) outside. Luna Negra means the 'Black Moon' and this name for a restaurant is definitely having a retro-chic meaning that could embrace the eaters to visit. Luna Negra is located on the ground floor of Plaza Bapindo and it becomes one of the 'it' places for many businessmen and socialites to hang out at.<br />

The menus of any Italian Restaurant does seem so cliche and always ring-a-bell on the eaters' perception, which are the pastas and pizzas.<br />

Honestly, the food does not look attractive as the execution is pretty BORING and it would be better if they push the chip aside. For the taste, it was sadly disappointing.<br />

<b>Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Seafood (Rp 93.000,-) </b>Typical aglio olio taste cooked with seafood. The taste is very 'seafood' and I like the presentation, it seems simple but attracts others to try it. Well, looking at the price it is very expensive, and I do not really think it is that worth it for a plate of aglio olio.<br />
<br />
Based on my personal visit in the past, i remembered that the size of the calzone is not as huge as the recent one. The taste of the overall menu is slightly declining hence with the rising price, it is not worthy at all. I love to eat at Luna Negra during the day-time as we could see the total nuance. I recommend to visit Luna Negra during the day-time especially around 3 to 4 pm.<br />
<br />
I was pretty disappointed with the food offered by Luna Negra as they should maintain its taste rather than charging it too high and yet horrible taste. I recommend you to make a reservation even though it is weekdays, and definitely crowded during the weekends.<br />

Being on the same group that opens Ocha and Bella, Moovina Mezzanine is pretty popular with its French cuisine and Vietnamese menus, still the menus are different from Ocha & Bella. There is a special concept that can be captured from this restaurant which is it has 2 floors of spaces. Things that make it different from each floor are either of the floors are meant to be bar and snack seat and light meal, while the other one is for the heavy-meals. i forgot which of which is meant to be the light meal section, but you may ask the receptionist about that. </div>

<b><i>Trio of mussels Rp 95.000,- </i></b>These mussels are served in 3 different ways and taste. These remind me of the three musketeers movie who have different personalities within one another. It has the spicy, sour, and wine sauce over in each bucket. I didn't order this one, but I had a try. As I am not a vivid fan of this kind of seafood, I realized that the mussels were not marinated well enough as the sauces were all at the bottom, and the top mussels were not blended in it. My friend said that the mussels were not cleaned enough as she swallowed bits of sands while eating them. </div>

As these photos were taken months ago, I did not remember for the dish name and prices as well. My friend, Bryan, helped me to take these shoots as I forgot to bring my memory card (yes, indeed i only brought my camera, such a shame).<br />

After all, the price of food is not that fancy and yet affordable, and the place is not crowded at that time, even though it was weekend. The taste is average rating, does not have its specialty, it should outstands its 'recommended' menu so it will differentiate it with other competing restaurants. Definitely, a good place to hang out for hours as it is quiet and soothing.<br />

Due to the confusion of us choosing the right place to have a long conversation at, we decided to eat at Opus Cafe, that exactly located besides Sushi Tei in Plaza Indonesia. I used to try it here before, with my university friends and that was when I tried its rainbow cake, and in my opinion, it is one or even the best rainbow cake that I have ever tried !! Unfortunately, when I went there, the manager said that they no longer having rainbow cakes stock. Sadly, we just order the main course without eating the rainbow cake *sigh*<br />

having a good start of the month of December, I just went to a culinary trip with my friends. Since I have class in Binus International featuring FX Sudirman version, the building itself is definitely 'packed' with food stands, restaurants, and even hang-out places. Therefore, there is this new kopitiam (Singaporean hawker centre) just recently opened in FX, not more than a month perhaps, I summoned my 2 friends to make a try. Actually, this is not something new for me, as I used to live in Singapore before, I am pretty familiar with many kopitiams out there spreading off the road of Singapore.</div>

<i style="font-weight: bold;">Kwetiaw Sapi (Beef Kwetiaw) - Rp28.000 </i>/ When i first looked at the menu list, I was thinking that this must be the usual fried beef kwetiaw. However, when the waiter opened the claypot and I saw the rumbling hot boiled kwetiaw soup, I was wondering, this was not like we expected. My friend made the first try, and he said that it tastes good. I gave a try and I am pretty sure he was not lying that time. yes, the taste just like the usual fried beef kwetiaw, but with the additional of black soy soup. For me, it is quite acceptable and the portion was actually bigger than it looks.<br />

<i><b>Chicken Fried Rice </b>/ </i>typical fried rice with chicken meatballs. I love the execution, it looks mouth-watering and I have never eaten a bowl of fried rice in a traditional claypot version. This is something "new" and the taste is actually so 'home-made'. it reminds me of my mom's fried rice, quite have a closer taste and actually I am kind of liking this menu. They should add a half-fried sunny side up egg to complement the total presentation and also the taste. </div>

<i style="font-weight: bold;">Nutella Toast - Rp15.000 / </i>Being a vivid fan of nutella, i could just take a spoon and eat nutella like I am eating rice. Yes, I love this nutella jam, and normally I eat it with biscuits, bread, or even ice cream, as toppings. these 3 pieces of thick nutella bread did not satisfy me pretty much. I could make a better toast with more variation of presenting it. Actually, this one is kinda good, but I can make it more delicious at home. They should just thinly slice the bread, and then make it as a french toast style, and they should make a nutella jam more creative, for example with caramel crumble fillings.</div>

QQ Kopitiam is a nice place for some teens to hang around, especially us, the Binus International students, who need a comfortable place to do assignments and projects. However, it should improve more on certain menus. the food is not that bad actually, but every person has different tasting perspective. :)</div>

The fact is, I dislike eating duck. So, I ordered this BBQ Chicken Breast with fried fries instead. Everytime I go here, this is what i always order. I like the spice and the chicken breast was fully marinated deeply till absorbed into the meat. Perfect cook of the fries, crispy, and just the exact amount of one person portion. The execution of the plate was pretty "inviting" as it is colorful, filled with steam vegetables and 2 slices of watermelon.<br />

Live your life to the fullest. i was with my friend, the woman in black, playing and enjoying the shiny field inside the restaurant. It was very hot at that time and my sun block didn't really give full protection, so I was kinda sunburnt after that, with the red face like a boiling crab.<br />

Indonesia is rich in culture and traditional food that attract tourists to go here. Being a proud Indonesian woman, I hope that the beauty of bali could give a change to our economics level to better.<br />

I was really surprised (or amazed is the right word, perhaps?) with the enlarging numbers of many new hype places in Bali, let's name some such as Rock Bar, Karma Kandara, El Kabron, etc. Those places are really very beautiful and yet the beaches are very clean and you really feel like in paradise.<br />

For our first stop, it is Nasi Pedes Ibu Andika. For any spicy-food lovers, this a must stop-by place to go!!! Don't ask me about the spicy level, it can drive u mad haha<br />

Apple pie is one of my fav dessert, especially when it is filled with ice cream and tuiles. I love it when the crumbles are sweet and yet crunchy. Pad28's apple pie is quite satisfying and that's why I chose it as our cake of the month. </div>

When I called the customer service, they said that there is a fault connection in hub that caused my internet to jam for few days. Damn, that was pretty harsh, wasn't it.<br />

Hence, now my internet is back and let's have some 'homecoming' hahaha. Today's food-menu is about Potato Head which is in Pacific Place. On that day, a group of friends and I are supposed to have dinner nearby (gonna upload this 'nearby' resto on next posts). However, our tummy couldn't resist the hunger and keep on growling like there is no tomorrow. So, we summon ourself to have a quick stop-by at Potato Head. I always feel excited every time I have the chance to update about my cake of the month. Sorry for abandoning this blog for quite a while, because I need to adapt with my new schedule and I feel pretty hectic nowadays. *sigh*<br />

Do you still remember when we were young there were more little choices of cakes, breads, or other desserts than today's? Indeed, I feel that there are lot of varieties in sweet pastries that make people are killing their curiousity just to try them. Let's name some, such as red velvet, rainbow cakes, apple pie, and bread puddings. All of them are 'booming' from time to time and becomes everyone's favorite.<br />
<br />
My favorite one is bread pudding ( I like other cake as well ) and you can now grab it in most bakery store such as Bread Talk, Bread Life, etc. Recently I have tried to make it on my own because I am craving so much for it and I still have my ingredients to make it. The result is, VOILA, it's delicious, spongy, creamy, and has the right taste of sweetness. My family is craving for more, and I promise to make another one for them around this week :). Trust me, it is easy and not time consuming.<br />

So the last bread pudding that I tried was from Marche's. I always love going to Marche because it provides varieties of food, like the Italian food market, that offers spaghetti, classic pizza, and rostti.<br />
Well, for the desserts of course I chose BREAD PUDDING.<br />

For quite a while, I feel bored with the restaurants in Jakarta. it seems like most of them are likely the same, and what makes them different is that the location and their respective themes. Somehow, they might have cute/unique/extraordinary decorations, but the food is a disappointment. Whereas very least of them that the place itself is not very tempting, but the food is really a feast to the eye.<br />

There is this restaurant that makes me feel a "come-back" despite all the fancy restaurants that i tried before, and ur guess is right, it is Canteen Restaurant. I used to have a routine of eating here, and ate the same menu, however, when I went there few weeks ago, they somehow changed the menu. Well, without looking at the menu, i confidently ordered my fav one here, ratatouille, to the servant. To my astonishment, the waiter said that the food was no longer available *sigh*<br />

Back to business, Canteen is very classic-minimalist (don't really know the exact name haha) and warm and welcoming. It feels like certain restaurants that I used to try when I visited Australia restaurants in my youth time.<br />

I could still remember that during my youth time, I would feel very thrilled and excited when my parents brought me to a small chinese restaurant at the side of the road, where the place was really out of elegant and luxurious theme. But I was happy even until now. I love eating street food, like mie tek tek, street snacks, and etc, even though the hygiene should be questioned right here, should not it? Well, I am just a normal girl who loves to eat what I like and I dont mind whether the place is a high-end, or low-budget centric.<br />

Today's post will be dedicated to one of the "youngest" hype place in Jakarta, known as Fable, as it just opened its restaurant not over a year, I guess. Located at the busiest street in Jakarta, Sudirman perimeter, makes this place looks strategic, as its exact location is also full of some restaurants.<br />

For quite a long time, I was kind of curious of this phenomenal restaurant. hearing the comments from my friends who have been there before, some said that the place was sophisticated and very elegant and unique, but the price of the food is not really that "cash-friendly". To kill my curiousity, and ignoring one of my buddies feedback, Bryan Andrean Putra, I summoned to try it myself. hahaha.<br />

Ice lychee tea. I have said tons of times that this drink is my fav, but Fable didn't really satisfy me that much :( furthermore, this glass is very expensive, around Rp 45.000 / glass and I couldn't taste any lychee-ness in this drink.<br />

penne carbonara. YUMMY. loving this dish very much. The price is Rp 119.000 per plate and can be said very expensive for a simple dish of pasta. But, luckily the taste is very dominant, and I love the creaminess and al den te pasta. El magnifico.<br />

Healthiest meal of the night. Salmon with rocket salad with pan seared baked baby potato. yummy. I love the title, but I dont really like the salmon. The salmon is cooked perfectly but lack of seasoning. it costs us around Rp 139.000 per plate and the portion is so small and yet very high cost.<br />

Lemon tart with vanilla ice cream and strawberry coulis. YUmmmmmmy. I never believe that lemon tart could have been made as delicious as this one. hahaha. I dont really like sour food or cake, but this is an exception. I kinda disappointed with the strawberry coulis. In my perspective point of view, coulis supposed to have the puree like, but this one is pretty much like a strawberry jam. A coulis should feel fresh and the sourness of strawberry should be very dominant. But somehow this is like a jar of strawberry jam and take it as the coulis for the lemon tart. After all, the cake itself is nice, and the sourness did not empower the whole dish.</div>

After I went to Fable, I told Bryan about my experience and when i said i was not satisfied with the restaurant, then he literally gave me that sinister looks! groaar bryan, you are so mean. hahaha but I guess I have to believe him more instead of challenging myself to kill my curiousity. however, i feel satisfied that I have tried Fable and so I know the experience of eating there.<br />

Great place, interior design, waiters and staffs, but Fable should improve the taste of its dish and reduce the price of the food and drinks.<br />

<b>RAMEN. </b>holaaa, new first post of the month, sorry for the delay of updating new stuff. Wow, the year has almost come to the near end, and I hope that there won't be any DOOM DAY! I don't believe on that such explosive news as I believe in God's words and visions. </div>

Today's new post will be about ramen. Most of you know what ramen is right, a signature dish from the sakura country, Japan, that is rich in broth soup and the texture of noodle itself is different than the one we have in Indonesia, China, or even Italy's spaghetti. Ramen is really quite having an astonishing popularity here in jakarta as I have like 3 resto that serve ramen in my housing areas. But between those three, I found out that IKKUDO ICHI is really my favorite one. This ramen really reminds me of the one in Singapore, IPPUDO ramen resto, but IKKUDO ICHI's is really rich in taste and seasoning and it really suits my Indonesian's tongue.<br />
However the different between IPPUDO in Singapore with IKKUDO ICHI in Jakarta is that the price. The one in Singapore can cost up to 2 or 3 times of IKKUDO ICHI's and it is not really that worth it for a bowl of ramen.. The average rate of one bowl of ramen in IKKUDO ICHI is around the starting price of Rp 39.000,- and Singapore one is around $15-20 per bowl (Rp 100.000,- to Rp 150.000,- approx).<br />

this is the ramen that we are talking about. it is so called the tonkotsu ramen (I think so, I literally forgot it when I write down the name) that contains of 3 sliced pork meat and broth soup, and the best part is the half-boiled egg with the gooey egg yolks inside. yummy....<br />

In IKKUDO ICHI we can literally choose our own 'designed' ramen texture and richness.<br />
They have the choice of:<br />
1. Richness --> is it going to be rich in oil and taste, normal, or low. my suggestion is u should use the normal one because if u choose the high richness, the soup turns out to be very oily, fattening, and will not taste very good.<br />
<br />
2. Texture of noodle: do you want it to be al-dente? or well-done cooked or just normal.<br />
<br />
3. Types of noodle: curly or normal noodle. I like the curly one indeed even tho they taste the same. haha<br />

After all, I really love IKKUDO ICHI and I will definitely come back here very very OFTEN haha. Well, it is frigging nearby my house and I could just drive there in 5 or 10 mins.<br />

Crepes is made up from the composition of flour, milk, and sugar. It sounds simples, yes it is, but when it comes to the practical situation, you really have to concern about small details. You must have a hot round pan before you pour the crepe mix and you shouldn't cook it for too long as it will get burnt quickly. But making crepes are actually easy if you know the steps of doing it the right way. Hence, we have to know the ratio for the flour and milk and sugar, as we do not want to have a broken piece of crepe.<br />

Normally, crepes are filled with ice cream (any flavors) and then sprinkle it with almonds, choco chunks, biscuits, and also chocolate and caramel syrup. You can combine crepes with sausage, meats, or any savory salty food, not only just the sweet fellows.<br />

I love this crepe from Hummingbird as the crepe has the sweet taste but not too dominant as the toppings and fillings are also very tasteful. In the end, I am pretty satisfied because I am also a fan of crepes itself, so ... yeah I guess this is worth to try :)<br />
